Dervish build help
Okay...Honestly, I think my build sucks. So, I'm coming to you smart and wise Gurus for help. XD
My current build is: D/mo (with no monk skills. ...I honestly have no idea what second to have since I only use Dervish skills) Weapon: Hand of the Forgotten. (also, all my armor has the "radiant" inscription except for the head. The one on it gives +5 armor for the enchantments on me. I figured the extra 5-15 armor would do me more good than 1 extra energy) Skills: heart of Fury, Pious Assault, Twin moon sweep, Chilling Victory, Mystic Regeneration, Wounding Strike (E), Heart of Holy Flame, Zealous Renewal. Attributes are: 14 scythe mastery, 12 mysticism and 3 earth prayers. How I use the build: Run into a group of monsters and activate Zealous Renewal, Heart of holy flame, then depending on how much dmg I've taken I'll either activate heart of Fury OR Mystic regeneration. I use twin moon sweep to help increase the ammount of energy I get back from Zealous renewal..though I'm honestly planning to replace it; the little extra energy is not worth the lose of a good damage or healing/protection skill in my opinion. ANYWAYS, if I end up using mystic regeneration instead of heart of fury, then I usualy have to wait untill my energy charges up a bit more so I can use heart of fury and then either Pious or Twin moon sweep. ...I've found that in hard mode, this build REALLY sucks. x_x I'm trying to do the "Valley of Rifts" quest (requires Goren) and I'm traveling from "Chantry of Secrets" and my butt has been beaten 6-7 times now. x_x I don't care if somebody suggests a whole new build, I just want to be able to survive and actualy be able to KILL something. >.<;; So...either help me refine this build, or suggest a new one. I was thinking of using those new PVE only skills along with the one Avatar that increases damage and energy (+10 extra energy means more skills I could use, and with the sunspear PVE skill, I could keep the avatar up almost all the time.) but I'd have no idea what to take out for it, what to leave in. x.x;; ...Okay, I've rambled on too much, sorry. ^_^; I'll put basicly: SOMEBODY SUGGEST A BUILD THAT I CAN USE IN HARD MODE AND ACTUALY SURVIVE/DO DAMAGE WITH! PLEASE!! I have 100k in my storage to use towards skills or runes that I may need, so feel free to suggest something really expensive. xD Just not TOO expensive as I NEVER farm, so all this money is what I've gathered from picking up loot/selling loot ever since GW was released. |

Try posting your question in The Campfire > Dervish section. There's an entire forum dedicated to Dervishes and builds for them.

It might take more than a day to get an answer. But that is really the best place to put this request.

Well, I looked at the post there, but it shows up as blank right now; I don't know if it got deleted or what, or just guru forum software freaking out for the umpteenth time.
First: that armor rune on your head is only providing armor.. for the head, which is a tiny percentage of the hits that land on you. Switch it out with Survivor or Radiant. You never know when that one little extra bit will save you. Second: http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page -- if you're just looking for a good standard build, that's a place to check. Third: if you don't care about your secondary at all (and it's reasonable, derv is all hybrid-y and does a lot of stuff itself) then switch to Warrior and take Wild Blow. It's unattributed, requires no points in anything, and is an automatic critical hit. With a scythe that is some ridiculous damage. Certainly better than Twin Moon Sweep. |

ive been doing pretty good with this build ( i also use a hand of the forgotten)
wounding strike(e) wild blow (usefull for removing war, sin others stance or when foe is blocking) mystic sweep (hits high with enchantments. low e cost and low recharge victorious sweep ( low e cost, low recharge, give hp hits high) aura of thorns (usefull against kiting, bleeding effect is nice too) staggering force ( nice spike, long lasting so less worrying about re activating durring battle) vital boom ( hp bonus, gives hp at end, lasts somewhat long) Mystic regeneration ( key skill, when used with the other long lasting enchantments, gives a good hp regen to keep you alive scythe mastery 15 (13+2 i think) earth prayers 14 (13+1 i think) hope this helps. |

In any mode, I'm a huge fan of Pious Assault:
I like D/R: apply poison, then put up, in order: Vital Boon, Heart of Holy Flame, Aura of Thorns, and any other enchant that causes conditions when it ends. I like to put on 4 enchants on myself. Wade into melee. When you have 10 energy or so, hit pious assault. This will end one enchant, put conditions on everyone around you, and instantly recharges pious assault. Hit Pious assault again. This should inflict bleeding. Hit pious assault again. This will inflict burning. One more time: this will remove vital boon, so be careful. At this point, all enchants should be recharged, and you should have enough energy to put them all up again. lather, rinse, repeat. Avatars are cool, especially with the pve eternal avatar skill. consider Balth's avatar against margonites, and grenth if the critters you figh have lots of enchants on them. Also: consider what builds your heroes are running: You need hex removals in places, and condition removal. Consider having ranger, mesmer, or necro running interrupt or anti-melee builds. Make sure heroes have enough energy. Give them radiant runes. Hope this helps. |
